Here is my layout. I used a vintage post card, that belonged to my gradmother. She got these things from her mother in law, my great grandmother. Seems that back in 1911 (date of postmark) George Washington's birthday was a big deal. I have quite a few post cards for "Happy George Washington's Birthday". Kind of weird, but OK!! I never really knew what to do with these odd cards, and when I saw the color challenge, I was so happy to use it!! I also used some vintage fabric, again passed down to me, because it has cherries on it!!

MARIT, I FINISHED!!

My Great BlogBuddy from the Netherlands, Marit, and I said we would trade ATC's 2 months ago. We traded one already, and the second one was going to be my Halloween atc, for her witch.

Now that Halloween is over, I finally did the cards!! So, here they are Marit!! I finished!!



I just made 4 cute little cards with left over Halloween paper, and some cool stickers my husband bought me. I of course had to use distressing ink on them, and some rope on one.

I am also having a problem, and if anyone knows anything about this, please let me know. When I edit my pics, I use Flickr. I used to edit the photo, then save it, and while it is at it's large size, I would right click and "save image as". Now, it won't let me save it when it is that size, now I have to save it when it is in my photo gallery, at thumbnail size. So, when I put my pic on my blog, it is small, and when you click on it it doesn't get bigger.

Did that make any sense? I hope it does to someone. I hate it when you think you have it all figured out, and the rug gets pulled out from under you?

So here is my lay out this week. I decided to use this picture of rotten Kitty, because I just like how weird it came out!! how you see one side of him, and the other is dark. the weird red eye he has. The pretty snow out the window. So, I just felt that this pic would be perfect with the combo!!

THANK GOD!! IT FIANALLY WORKED!!

I AM HAVING THE WORST DAY!!

Firs, I put up my very challenge for Ch{all}enge Masters. You all know that I am the Grand magician, or best person, or something. there. I am actually the Group leader for the Altered Group, and today, I got to put up my first challenge that I made up!!

So, I go there this morning to make my challenge post, and no matter how hard I try, I couldn't;t get my pictures up!! I wrote instructions, and had tutorial pictures too, but it just wouldn't happen. It sucked, I suck and I am pissed.

SOOOOOO, I figure, I will write a blog post sending everyone over there to check out my groovy first challenge, but I couldn't sign in to my blog!! Are you freakin' kidding me? what else. So, I restarted the computer, and finally got here. And I go to upload my only pic I will upload here, and it won't come up. I have to say to myself, "It is me!! Someone put a hex on me".

But. finally. I got the picture up.

I made a wreath, using a Styrofoam circle from the dollar store. and some flowers from the dollar store, and some wire ribbon I got for 4 bucks at Michael's. 20 yards!! I wrote directions on how I did it, and told everyone to make it their own. I also made some paper flowers from text paper, and ink. I told everyone, as I will tell you, do your own thing!! Have fun!! Art is fun!!

And don't forget to put it in the gallery!! You can win the RAK at the end of the month!!!!

SO MUCH TO TALK ABOUT!!

I know, usually on Monday, we only talk about "new" business, but today, we have DOUBLE NEW BUSINESS~~

FIRST, WE START WITH OUR NEW CHALLENGE AT SPCC



Aren't these colors delish? I made a really neat 'coloring" page. I cut the pattern from some paper I had, and colored it with watercolor pencils, and a blender pen. I had this picture from some flowers Carl bought me a while ago. I used Melissa Frances lace, random CS, and MME tags. I used the "real" flower for that touch of the cranberry, and the ribbon.

I hope you enjoy my LO. I also used it on Scrapping for a Cure's weekly challenge, which was coloring!!

What is this, you ask? Well, it is a message board, that has a "challenge for everyone"!!! There are card challenges, page challenges, other challenges, but if you are a friend of mine, you love ALTERED ART CHALLENGES. Which is MY group. I am the group leader!!! I will put up my first "challenge" on November first, and then you can see what I am altering (hint, it is Christmas like), and join me!!! Isn't that fun!! PLEASE come join my group!!! HELLO!

I have been a bad blogger again!! Once a week isn't enough!! But I will try harder!!

So crazy around here!!!

Lots of work to do, different times, different dates. Yikes!!

But I made time to do a challenge for a new blog I found called
Scrapbooking Supplies R Us
They are an all in one Scrappy spot!!

They sell awesome supplies for fantastic prices, and they have a neato blog, with challenges. So, I decided to join in this week!! It was a sketch challenge. I used Melissa Frances paper with some old family photos from the 1950's. I wish I had more pics like this! I could scrap them all day!!. I also used a tag from MME, and some fabulous thin rope. Very simple, especially for me!! But, I had to complicate it a little by using Crackle paint along the outline, to look like a weathered frame. I love Tim Holtz!! His stuff is always great. You can never go wrong!!

MY ART, SPCC #20, AND MY 100TH POST!!

OMG!!! IT IS A BIG WEEK AT SPCC!! First, we are on our 20th challenge already!! can you believe that? This weeks color combo was a good one for me. Right in my comfort zone!!

And we have a super fantastic sponsor DRS STAMPS! They are a family owned stamp company that sells wood mounted and plain rubber stamps. They also have a blog with challenges and stuff. Go check them out!! They are offering a $15.00 gift certificate to this weeks winner!! I was lucky enough to get 2 of these awesome stamps when I joined the design team. I was really lucky too because I was able to pick out the 2 I wanted!! I used one of them in my art this week!!



Yes. I didn't scrapbook. sorry. i am bad.
Instead, I decided to try a real piece, using paper, ink, glue and other "regular scrapbooking things. I started with a flat 11x14 canvas. I used Gesso to prime it. Then, I used Mod Podge to place the papers on, like a frame. I used 3 Birds scrapbook paper, and a misc. piece of dark green trim. Then, I used one of my DRS stamps, that I stamped in white ink and put around the outside. Then, I became a little crazy! I took a Le Plume fine tip pen, and sketched out the witch. Then, I went over it with a black Copic marker. I used a green Copic for her face, and a light and dark brown for her broom. I used Stickles glitter glue on parts of the witch, and the moon. I added baby black Prima flowers to her hat. Ok, so here is when I became insane!!! I used Mod Podge, and TISSUE PAPER and made her dress dimensional. Then, I coated the whole dress with tacy glue, and sprinkled ultra fine glitter all over it!!! I don't know if I am a genius, or clinically insane. but, this is my result!! I really hope you enjoy it!!

YOU ARE ALL SO FUNNY!!

You left such sweet comments!! If you know me at all, I thought you would have left messages like "I swear I WAS looking for you!!" or "I called the police". But you all felt bad, I'm sorry!! It was a joke!!!

NOW, this layout. That's right. I said it. Layout. Although it is still "mixed media", but I actually used a PICTURE OF ONE OF MY CHILDREN!!! Yup. My Robert. 13.

I used the SPCC combo, of course I am a Diva, and the brown, teal, green and light blue work really nice together. I used Gauche Alchemy ouchless cardboard on the top, and their green and brown color kits. (love them!) I also decoupaged the papers together, and used acrylic paint. I layered the sequins then the overlay, then the bling over Robert's picture. There is so much going on here, I don't even remember what I put on it!!!

But, there it is!!!

NO ONE WAS WORRIED?

I have been missing all week!!!

I feel so lonely!!!

I thought for sure at least 15 people would be outraged!! Searching high and low!! Messages every where "have you seen this woman".!!!

Well, I have been home with an extreme muscle spasm since this weekend in my left shoulder/neck/back. But, I am healing now, and I had to get here to put up the newest SPCC challenge!!!

I really loved these colors. I am waiting for my project to dry, and then I will post it tomorrow.

UNBELIEVABLE!!

I swear, I didn't see it coming!!

He turned 13!!!

13? A teenager?

How could this be?

I am so proud of him. He is growing into a man. A man you can be proud of. So many exciting things ahead. And I am excited for him!!

OMG. I made him a card, and it was sooooo corny!!! "I've loved you since before you were born, and I will love you forever"..... You can only imagine!!

But, I am ok with all of this. Like I said, I am excited for him. This is a wonderful age.

I will be 40 in January. THAT is almost more unbelievable!!!! I thought I was still young!! Was it not just yesterday that I was a disco queen? Most popular? I don't know what happened to that!!!

So, I just wanted to share this picture with you all. To see how big he is! I am
5'6", and he is just as tall!!

They grow up so fast!!! Enjoy them for as long as you can little, because you will wake up one day and your child will be 13 too. Even though you told them they weren't allowed. They will!!!

WHAT A DAY~ AND SPCC #18

Hello everyone!! I hope you are all having a better day than I have had. I had to drive an hour and a half (each way) for an errand that took WAY to long. Then, when I get home I remember "OMG I have to put my work up and the new SPCC challenge!! So I try, and try. And try. For hours. Nothing. I couldn't get onto blogger for anything. After 3 hours, I am starting to panic!! It is getting late, what am I going to do!! BUT.. just when I thought all hope was lost. I was able to get onto blogger and now, I can post this weeks SPCC Color Combo #18



I totally think this is a great color combo!! Just my style!! So please come and join us this week, we have a great prize too!!!! Love "4" Paper, has so generously sponsored our blog this week. Anyway, business aside, I went to SPCC to check things out, and my beautiful piece of art was sooooooo dark!! I was so sad, I felt like some goth person or something. It so isn't dark. Weird, maybe. My art is an acquired taste, I think. But I don't think people would call it dark. I fixed it before uploading it to my blog. Much better!!!



This piece was centered around the stamp that I used. I loved the beautiful lady, and all the vintage travel bits around her. I used a piece of blue multi colored paper, and some mauve/pink kind of color that I think matched perfectly to the SPCC color, and a brownish, greyish color on the bottom too. I added a TON of ephemera, as usual, but I also included my new Gauche Alchemy White Kit items because they ae sooooo awesome!!! I love the color kits, the bits and pieces that come out of that bag are like Christmas morning!!! I must always thank Maggi, for being such a true pal for telling me about them!!! Everyone should have at LEAST 6 of these color kits!!!!
